Newsletter Portfolio: Supporting global sales in the marine sector

A major ships equipment supplier, Hamworthy, keeps some of the world's largest and most advanced vessels sailing the Seven Seas. The company produces a diverse range of equipment including: compressors, engine room pumps, incinerators, rudders and waste treatment plant.

Hamworthy's equipment has been supplied to some of the world's largest shipbuilders such as Mitsubishi, Daewoo and Fincantieri. The Hamworthy products are responsible for the smooth running of a fleet of vessels around the world including: cruise liners, chemical and oil tankers, car carriers, cargo vessels, frigates and FPSOs.

The Hamworthy newsletter was written and was typically used as a sale support document at many of the worldwide exhibitions Hamworthy attends. The text featured new contract wins, new product announcements, descriptions of sea trials and typically and in-depth article of one of Hamworthy's key products. For example, in one issue it could be about the high manouvrability performance of the company's Schilling rudders and how this could improve safety at sea while also reducing transportation costs. In another issue the focus article could be about the environmental benefits of Hamworthy's sewage treatment plants used on board cruise liners in the Carribean. The sheer size and scale of these plants is the equivalent to serving the waste treatment needs of a large village or small town.

Many of the newsletter pieces were also converted to be used as news releases and feature articles for the company's PR programme.
